Imagine talking to them, having a family dinner, talking about your lives. What you do. What you love. Who you love. Now add another 16 birth mothers and we have a small party of 20 in the 1500s. Imagine connecting with them. Double that twice. 80 people. You've got a full restaurant, you're way back at the height of the Roman empire. Now 100 of your great-grandmothers on your mom's side. Confucious is alive. Socrates wasn't born yet. But that doesn't matter because you're here with your family. And you love them. And they love you. This is the size of a medium sized wedding. Double that. 200 is the most amount of people I could ever hope for in a party. That would be around 5000 years back. 5000. You would have members of the Egyptian and Indus River Valley civilizations. The very first human civilizations. And yet talking to them would show you the very fundamentals of human essence. They would sing. They would cry. They would laugh. They would talk about what they do. How they live. Where they work. What they love. Who they love. They would be proud of you, I think. I hope they would be proud of me, at least. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though. Only 200 people goes back 5000 years. And we can still go further! How about 1000 people, a full high-school? That's the end of the last ice age. You'd be comparing Weezer CDs with their mammoth bone instruments and then you'd truly see that humanity has never changed. Not once. We have always been here like this. Loving. Living. Now let's take a walk through this crowd, hm? What do you see? I see our own features being projected everywhere. I see facial features that go back for thousands of years. I see the origins of behaviors and traditions. I think they would love you. I think they would be envious of you.
